The Charles Olson Research Collection contains some official records from Black Mountain College, including student applications and financial records. A listing of these materials is available in the Collection Finding Aid. The majority of the Black Mountain College records are housed at the State Archives of North Carolina in Asheville.

Black Mountain College: A Foreward outlines the teaching philosophies that provided the foundation for the College. This introduction to the 1933 catalogue also explains the administrative procedures of the College and describes the social and academic life of the students and faculty at Black Mountain.
